Detailed 1/48 scale assembly model kit of the Douglas A1/AD Skyraider, a Korean War and Vietnam War era single-seat piston engine attack bomber operated by the United States Air Force and Navy. Originally developed in 1944, the Skyraider never made it to active service in World War II, and by the Korean War, the Skyraider was considered by some a relic in the jet age. However, the Skyraider proved to be an exceptional ground attack aircraft because of its ruggedness and ability to fly at low-altitudes and slow speed, and the type had a successful service career that lasted some three decades. This model kit depicts the A-1H/AD-6 variant, which is the sing-seat attack bomber version; the kit features: Detailed cockpit with one seated pilot figure. Detailed exterior and undercarriage. Optional open or closed cowl flaps. Separate wing flaps and dive-brakes. Accessories include under-wing & centerline drop-tanks, rockets, and bombs. Includes decals with markings for U.S. Navy attack squadrons: VA-176, VA-25, and VA-52.
